Bucklebury Ferry

Bucklebury Ferry was a raft-ferry at the main crossing point of the River Brandywine from the Shire to Buckland, about ten miles south of the Brandywine Bridge.

Bucklebury Ferry was a raft-ferry at the main crossing point of the River Brandywine from the Shire to Buckland , about ten miles south of the Brandywine Bridge . From the Causeway on the west bank, two tall white posts marked the entrance of the lane; the straight lane ran about a hundred yards, edged with large white-washed stones, leading to a gangway and broad wooden landing-stage. Near the bank were some bollards, and two high posts with lanterns.
