Lichbane

Description

This substance had a color similar to that of bleached bone. A flask of lichbane typically contained enough of the substance to coat a weapon sized for a human.

Powers

Lichbane was designed to be applied to weaponry, much like a contact poison. When an intelligent undead was struck by a weapon laced with lichbane, all of their mental abilities would be drained. This impacted the undead's ability to use spells and spell-like abilities.

Notable Users

Prior to its flooding, the northern cellblock of Castle Ravenloft's dungeon was used as a laboratory by the Necromancer. While working there, she had a vial of lichbane, among many other substances.
