The Engagement Tablet was a tablet in Bag End used by Bilbo Baggins to mark down the dates of future engagements. He did not remember the dates of his engagements well unless they were on the Tablet.

When Bilbo invited the Wizard Gandalf the Grey for tea, he was too flustered to remember to inscribe it on the tablet and nearly forgot.
