Damara

Ilmwatch was a large fortress-town that protected the infamous Buzzard Beak Harbor and traders of the Merchant's Run , located on the northern end of the Easting Reach , within the Farwater region of Impiltur .

The name "Sidewinder" was occasionally also used to describe the River Lench to the southeast. The reason for this was that the two rivers collectively formed a clear border between Damara and Impiltur .

The Lench flowed gently, at least relative to other rivers in the region. As nothing was imported from upstream in the Dunwood, the river saw little traffic north of Lenchford.

The Goliad flowed north to south, originating high in the Galena Mountains . The Goliad merged with the Beaumaris River at the city of Goliad before continuing south to empty into Lake Mogador in the center of Damara.

Given the lake's position as the convergence point for most of Damara's waterways, nearly all goods leaving Damara by water passed through the lake at some point. To protect their interests, the Damaran baronies of Morov , Ostel and Polten all maintained heavily armed vessels on the lake in addition to their regular commercial ships.
