Notes
- The real world origin of the duchy is based on a mistake: on a fan-made world map from Andrzej Sapkowski Zone, Yspaden (a city in northern Redania) was misspelled as "Vspaden" and made a region to the north of Kaedwen. While Wiedźmin: Gra Wyobraźni authors originally intended to rename it into Barsa for the 2nd edition, they ultimately decided against it and only slightly altered the name to V e spaden to avoid mistaking it with the Redanian city.
- Vespa is a Latin word meaning "wasp" or "hornet".
- Yspaden in turn is a simplified form of the name " Ysbaddaden ", chief of giants in Welsh tale Culhwch and Olwen.
