Its border is marked by the Buina River and the Kestrel Mountains to the west. Like Kaedwen's other marches, the margraves here meant to push the kingdom's border out, looking to expand westward past the Kestrel Mountains. However, the Kingdom of Hengfors used this mountain range to mark their eastern border and had a powerful alliance with Kovir. Realizing they wouldn't be able to get Hengfors to back down without risking heavy bloodshed, the margraves relented and in 1225, the Peace of Barefield was established. This agreement dictated that the Braa River would mark the border between Kaedwen and Hengfors.
