The Lyceum

The Lyceum is a structure located on a sandpit on the northern coastline of the Estwilde region in the Qlettaar province, eastwards of the city of Kalaman. Formerly a school of magic for apprentice wizards and a storehouse of magical knowledge, the Lyceum is also one of the anchor points to the Lost Citadel and an important site to the Orders of High Sorcery.

Before the Cataclysm, the Lyceum was sealed with magical wards before it was abandoned. An attempt to occupy it was made by a draconian force during the War of the Lance. However they were ultimately driven back. A Dragon Highlord then later occupied the site by the name of Rugoheras, who made the Lyceum the base of operations for the Red Dragonarmy.

The upper levels of the Lyceum are segmented into three main branches. Dark granite halls lead to the black spheres which were used by the followers of Nuitari, light granite halls led to the red spheres once used by the followers of Lunitari, and white marble halls led to the white spheres where were used by the followers of Solinari. Other than the three branches, the upper levels contain a grand hall, throne room, library, kitchens, guard cells and general storage space.

Stairways in the Lyceum lead underground into the lower levels which were used by the masters of the Lyceum as their private studies, as well as places where magical tests were conducted for apprentices, and also where the two treasuries of the Lyceum is located.
