Al-Qirmiza Islands were located 210 miles (340 kilometers) due south of Gana on the mainland. The archipelago was one of several clusters of island in the area including both Al-Tarik Islands and Al-Zulm Islands.
Sixteen individual islands were part of the archipelago. The only named island was also the largest by far–Dabab Island.
