The Royal Harim was one of the largest sections of the palace. It contained dormitories, beautiful gardens, and opulent suites.

Inhabitants

The Royal Harim was the home to the Grand Caliph's many wives and concubines as well as their slaves, servants, and guards—numbering over 3,000 occupants.

Rumors and Legends

A secret tunnel, known only to the inhabitants of the harim, was used to escort men into the harim. The men were usually dressed as women.
