Description

The main store in Ravens Bluff was a single large room. Although practically empty of furniture, the walls were filled to the brim with shelves stocked with every kind of spell component, and pots containing yet more components hung from the ceiling. A curtain-covered door behind the counter led to a vast storeroom and loft. The store was protected by a powerful wish spell cast by a grateful wizard in exchange for a year's supply of free spell components. The spell caused anyone who tried to steal from or damage the store to be transformed into a wooden statue or tiny figure for several months.

Goods & Services

Bendekar's was a supplier of spell components for mages, clerics, and alchemists. Whilst the chain itself did not sell any magical items, it sold almost every imaginable component needed to cast spells or create potions. The inventory included mummy dust, various dried or pickled monster parts (such as eyeballs, scales, and ichor), dragon scales, skeleton parts, and much more.

Locations

The headquarters of the chain is located on the north side of Selgaunt Street in the Mortonbrace neighborhood of the Uptown District of Raven's Bluff.

As a franchise, there were also a dozen other stores (all sharing the franchise name 'Bendekar's Mercantile') located in Daggerford, Waterdeep, Suzail, Ordulin, Heliogabalus, Turmish, Alaghôn, Ormpetarr, Ormpur, Riatavin, Emmech, Huzuz, and Calimport. All these stores were noted to be profitable, and were each managed by one of Bendekar's relatives.

There was also a traveling Bendekar's caravan operating in Zakhara. As of 1367 DR, there were plans to open up a new store in Amruthar.
