Geography

Enclosed by the Sanrach Mountains in the north and west, and the River Samar to the east, the Samarlogh covered much of northeastern Samarach. The jungle reached all the way to the coast of the Great Sea in the west below the mountains. The Samarlogh was actually part of the larger jungle that covered much of Chult that was separated by the mountain range. A massive stone boulder could be found in the jungles of Samarlogh. It was known as the Heart of the Samarlogh by the locals. The Stone possessed magics tied to the Positive Energy plane. A chip off the Heart was turned into the enchanted weapon called Shard of the Samarlogh – the namesake of the Batiri Stone Knives tribe.

Inhabitants

Flocks of corollaxes and large carnivorous sloths, as well as many more dangerous creatures, could be found within the jungle. Ruins from House Sauringar strongholds littered the Samarlogh.

Rumors & Legends

Native Samarachans told of the legend of Squamata the Black, an embodiment of the encroaching jungle that swallowed everything in its path.
