Overview

Kalia was a senior member of the Emerald Brotherhood company of adventurers and served as primary helmsman onboard the vipership, Tyr's Strike, under the command of her husband, Gehrm.

Description

Kalia was a woman with wide, innocent green eyes who served both Tyr and Torm as a priestess. Her greatest strength was her inner serenity, which, coupled with her apparent innocence, lulled many enemies into underestimating her. Though she was peaceful and caring by nature, she became fierce when threatened.

Possessions

Kalia wore a cloak of protection and was armed with an enchanted flail. She also possessed a flametongue and a staff of curing.

Activities

As a member of the Emerald Brotherhood, Kalia was determined to destroy all slavers within Realmspace, especially mind flayers and the neogi.

As a priestess devoted to both Tyr and Torm, she and her husband Gehrm used their share of the plunder taken from the various slavers they defeated to build a temple dedicated to Tyr on their asteroid home in the Tears of Selûne.

Family

Kalia was married to Gehrm, a paladin devoted to the deity Tyr.

Crew

Kalia served as the primary helmsman onboard the vipership, Tyr's Strike, under the command of the paladin Gehrm. The rest of the crew included the fighter-mage Dairn, his younger half-brother Zadfraq, and their companion, Thya.

History

The Emerald Brotherhood were originally an adventuring company based on the planet Toril in Realmspace. They first came together to protect the forest of Thornwood and its druids from an invading tribe of gnolls. They went on to achieve some fame as lycanthrope-hunters in the lands east and south of Amn and Tethyr.

They were later hired by a local king in the Vilhon Reach area to hunt down and kill three evil dragons that were thought to be lurking along the Deepwash. However, while they were exploring the Snowflake Mountains, they were captured by illithid slavers and taken into wildspace on their ship, the Mind Ripper.

Having been sold to the neogi, the Company eventually escaped their cruel captors, and would go on to destroy a major neogi slavery operation. They subsequently purchased their iconic vipership, Tyr's Strike, from an arcane merchant who had also been held captive by the neogi before being freed by the adventurers.

The Emerald Brotherhood set their sights on destroying both the mind flayers and the neogi, and after some fourteen months, slavers throughout Realmspace had learned to fear them - especially the neogi. The neogi responded by placing a bounty of 50,000 gold pieces on their heads.
