Overview Vom of the Protectorate was a member of The Gauntlet adventuring company which patrolled the Tears of Selûne, and was dedicated to the eradication of all slavery within Realmspace. He served as one of three helmsmen onboard their scorpionship, known as the Gauntlet.

Description
Vom was a sardonic man who appeared to be in his forties, with a greying beard. In truth he was well into his nineties, having relied on potions of longevity to retain his youthful looks until he developed an allergic reaction.

Vom possessed a wand of lightning bolts.

Vom had a son.
Colleagues
Vom served as a helmsman on the scorpionship Gauntlet under the command of the paladin Kyriel Pellinore, alongside the Company's other senior mages, Cambrigha, and Savion of the Eleven Fingers. Savion was a close personal friend, which is how Vom first joined the Company.
Tutelage
Vom's apprentices included the abjurers Alekra and Chare, both junior members of The Gauntlet.
History
Vom of the Protectorate had originally been a member of the Fist of Antiquity, a company of mages dedicated to stamping out evil along the borders of the Dalelands on Toril. Sadly, while Vom was attending a handfasting ceremony between his son and his new daughter-in-law, the Zhentarim sent a force to annihilate the rest of the Fist. Because he lacked the personal power to strike back at the leadership of the Black Network on his own, Vom has since been biding his time.
