History
Beginnings
The Vivaldi bank was already operating well before the human kingdoms had their first kings. Through the Vivaldi family's hard work, their bank became one of the two most powerful banks on the entire Continent. The bank's headquarters were located at their branch in Novigrad, but they established many other branches. They set up branches in all the larger cities in the North, and to oversee this vast network, they had key branches that oversaw specific regions. The Pont Vanis branch oversaw Kovir, Poviss, Caingorn, and Creyden. The Tretogor branch oversaw Redania and Kaedwen. The Vengerberg branch oversaw Aedirn, Lyria, and Sodden, and the Vizima branch oversaw Temeria and neighboring countries. Vimme Vivaldi carried the torch for his generation, making the Novigrad branch of the bank the largest bank in the city.
Security Troubles
In early 1267, the Vivaldi bank informed Molnar Giancardi that several attempts had been made to track the correspondence of the sorceress Yennefer of Vengerberg. The branch in Vengerberg also discovered an attempt by a disloyal clerk to track all transactions of her private accounts. Vivaldi either didn't or couldn't investigate the case, and the disloyal clerk ended up drowned in a ditch. They also informed Molnar of this.
Vizima Trouble
The branch in Vizima encountered some financial difficulties, which led to a hostile takeover of the branch by humans, leaving the bank director Golan Vivaldi poor and bitter. The bank was used to pay the bail money for the criminal known as the Professor. The bank would eventually return to the family's control when the Scoia'tael under the command of Yaevinn stole documents that allowed Golan to regain control. After regaining control, Golan sent someone to check on the profitability of a mine in Vergen.
Third Northern War
Despite growing pressure on the nonhumans in Novigrad, Vimme Vivaldi managed to keep the bank profitable.
If both Borsody brothers died: He even founded a new branch of the bank in the city of Oxenfurt after buying the Borsody Auction House.
Hogge association
At one point, Golan hired the Hogge sisters. They attempted to get the poet Dandelion to write a ballad about one of the bank's founding anniversaries but eventually left the Vivaldi Bank.
Meanwhile, at the Novigrad branch, there were some hard times, which threatened to become even worse as an employee demanded a raise under the threat of starting his own bank and taking some customers with him. Vimme avoided this by giving the employee a fifteen percent raise.
