Long ago, young boys were trained at this fort to become witchers, primarily in physical combat and endurance, though these were rather harsh training regimes and punishments. The fort, along with other places in the valley, was later stormed by angry peasants during the assault on Kaer Morhen.
By 1272, the Bastion became inhabited by wraiths due to the fact that a young boy was killed here during the historical assault on Kaer Morhen and did not receive a proper burial.
