History
Eons ago, Ddiddiwedht used to be a seabed of a sapient ocean. According to Avallac'h, while the universe teems with life, even lifeforms much more intelligent than humans can exhaust all natural resources of a planet to the last drop, which is what eventually occured on Ddiddiwedht.
At one point in Ddiddiwedht's history, elves erected structures there, including a portal to other worlds.
In 1272, while attempting to reach the world of the Aen Elle, Geralt of Rivia and Avallac'h accidently landed in the desert before being attacked by sandcrabs. Avallac'h then quickly activated the portal and the pair continued on.
