Monster den

A monster den is a type of marked treasure location in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and the Blood and Wine expansion, where loot is hidden inside monster -infested dungeons (often caves, but not necessarily). Monster dens aren't as common as other marked treasures, but the locations themselves are usually more elaborate and/or associated with quests.

Similarly to guarded treasures and bandit camps, a monster den is considered cleared and its map marker greyed-out as soon as its designated treasure chest is opened, even if Geralt manages to do that without slaying any enemies.
