The Imperial Bank has the backing of the Nilfgaardian treasury, allowing it to offer much more attractive terms than its competitors. It opened a branch in Novigrad around the time of the Northern Wars. Despite the attractive terms, people are reluctant to use its services, believing it to be an extension of the Nilfgaardian Military Intelligence as well as accusing it of handling the Scoia'tael's money.
