History
Redania had an excellent royal courier service, alongside which a state-run Horse Post was established. These transported letters and parcels to all major Redanian cities, as well as several major foreign cities. As they began transporting money on a larger scale, the kingdom introduced postal bills of exchange. At the largest post offices, proper banking houses were established where one could exchange bills for cash and cash for bills. Under the initiative of Sigismund Dijkstra, these were reorganised into a proper banking network.
Its branch in Novigrad is located next to the city's exchange. On the ground floor there is a branch of the Redanian Horse Post; following the broad white marble stairs leads one into the bank's offices. There, beneath a large Redanian eagle, stands a large desk where an official sits alongside bank clerks. The official provides clients with all necessary banking information, while one of the clerks escorts them to the appropriate door. All banking business is conducted in private offices. The bank enjoys popularity among circles hostile to non-humans and the dwarven monopoly on banking. Much of its clientele consists of aristocrats, famous sorcerers, and representatives of wealthy merchant companies, and especially in Novigrad, supporters of the unification of Novigrad with Redania.
