Koviri mountains
For ages these regions were inhabited by griffins who posed a real danger to early human settlers. The problem was solved by a school of witchers wearing medallions depicting an Eagle - or, what one could say later, a Griffin.
For ages these regions were inhabited by griffins who posed a real danger to early human settlers. The problem was solved by a school of witchers wearing medallions depicting an Eagle - or, what one could say later, a Griffin. Since then the creatures have inhabited only the most secluded peaks and fought among themselves for goat meat.
Notes
The map of Northern Realms drawn by Stanislav Komárek identifies the mountains with the Kestrel Mountains, while the one used in CD PROJEKT RED's The Witcher franchise with the Dragon Mountains. Because the novels don't mention the name of mountains of Kovir and Poviss, it is possible that either one of the aforementioned ranges are these mountains - as well as that none or both of them, since it hasn't been even specified whether the rich Koviri mountains form one range or a number of them.
