In 1373, Ivalo was starting to go through an industrial period, with a mechanical saw to cut up logs. However, this wasn't without its drawbacks: the large machine made such a cacophony of noise that its vibrations could be felt before even entering the town, and Ivalo itself smelled horrible from various wastes.
