The Savant is the primary social hub for the faculty of Grey College, the masters of the University of Magical Arts, and the high-ranking officials of the City Watch (Clerkburg Division). It serves as an 'extended classroom' where the most complex magical theories and historical debates are settled over drinks. The tavern features Silence-Warded booths for sensitive research discussions and a massive, central hearth surrounded by comfortable leather armchairs. This is a refined, three-story establishment built of traditional timber and clean white plaster. Unlike the rowdy atmosphere of the Black Dragon, the Savant feels more like a private club or a high-end library that happens to serve exceptional wine and imported ales.
