The Low Seas Tavern is a Sailor's Public House and Boarding Home, catering primarily to the crews of the river-barges and lake-vessels that ply the Selintan River and the Nyr Dyv. It serves as a secondary hiring hall for deckhands, navigators, and 'river-rats' looking for passage or work on the water. This is a weather-beaten, two-story structure constructed from salvaged ship timbers and dark, salt-stained stone. The exterior walls are reinforced with iron plates in several places—a testament to the frequency of brawls in this part of the quarter. The entrance is a heavy, low-slung door of dark oak, accessible by descending three stone steps from the street level, giving the interior a sunken, basement-like feel.
