The Gold Digger Tavern is a Boisterous Tavern and Meeting Hall that serves as the primary social center for the city's laborers, excavators, and treasure hunters of the lower rungs. It is a place for strong, cheap ale and heavy meals of salted meat and tubers. It also functions as an informal Labor Exchange, where foremen come to hire strong backs for construction projects or more adventurous digging expeditions. This is two-story stone and timber building that presents a rugged, unpretentious exterior. The sign hanging above the door is a pickaxe crossed with a shovel over a pile of yellow coins. The entrance is a single, thick door of iron-bound pine, set slightly below street level, requiring visitors to step down into the taproom.
