Unlike the prominent temples of the Garden Quarter, the Temple of Celestian, known as The Stargazers' Sanctum, is a subterranean complex. Its entrance is a modest, nondescript stone doorway in a quiet corner of the Grey College grounds, leading down into a series of highly specialized chambers. This is the primary center for Cosmic Research and astral navigation in the Free City. It houses the Stargazers, an order of priests and scholars who map the heavens and the planes. The temple contains a sophisticated Planarium—a magical model of the Oerthly solar system—and several Observation Wells that use enchanted mirrors to view the stars even during the day. It also serves as a secure archive for records of journeys to the Astral Plane and the depths of space.
