The Temple of Zilchus is the primary seat of worship for Zilchus, the deity of Money, Merchants, and Commerce. It serves as the city's central clearinghouse, a high-stakes brokerage, and the ultimate arbiter of trade disputes. The Holy Vaults beneath the temple are said to be the most secure location in the Flanaess, housing the personal fortunes of the Directing Oligarchy and the city's trade reserves. This is a masterpiece of 'functional opulence'. Built from blocks of solid, polished white granite and reinforced with veins of silver, the structure resembles a cross between a cathedral and a high-security counting house. Its most famous feature is the Golden Scales, a massive, enchanted sculpture suspended over the main entrance that shifts slightly whenever a massive transaction occurs within the city walls.
