The Temple of Istus is the primary sanctuary for the worship of Istus, the Lady of Our Fate and the Colorless and Seer of All. It serves as a place of high-level divination, where the city's elite come to have their Web of Fate read by the Weavers—the temple's silent, veiled priestesses. It is also a repository for the Great Tapestry, a massive, ever-changing loom that supposedly maps the life-thread of every sentient soul in the Flanaess. This is an architectural anomaly—a windowless, silver-grey ziggurat made of a seamless, glass-like stone that reflects the sky but reveals nothing of its interior. Its most striking feature is the Spindle Spire, a thin, twisting needle of iridescent metal that rises from the center and seems to 'pierce' the clouds. There are no visible doors; instead, three narrow, shimmering 'veils' of hanging silver thread serve as the only entrances.
