Despite its singular name, this is the official Mausoleum of the Lord Mayors. It serves as the final resting place for the city's highest officials and those members of the Directing Oligarchy who do not possess private family estates in the Cairn Hills. The Tomb is a windowless rectangular block of weathered grey granite. The only entrance is a single, massive slab of dark basalt, carved with a simple, unadorned sword and a laurel wreath. It is a low, squat structure of seamless masonry. The stone is pitted by age but remains structurally impenetrable.
