The residence is the home and private scriptorium of Kardis, a renowned independent sage specializing in Planar Geography and Ancient Flanaess History. Unlike the institutional scholars of Clerkburg, Kardis operates as a freelance consultant for high-stakes adventurers, merchant princes, and the occasional diplomat. The ground floor serves as a reception area, while the upper floors are a vertical labyrinth of bookshelves, star-charts, and jars of preserved exotic specimens. This is a tall, slender tower-house built of weathered blue limestone, topped with a steep, copper-shingled roof that has turned a vibrant verdigris green. Its most striking feature is the Solar Gallery—a protruding glass-walled study on the top floor that catches the first and last rays of the sun over the Cairn Hills.
