Burrow Heights is the primary Halfling neighborhood within the Free City walls. To the casual observer, it appears to be a small, hilly park, but a closer look reveals circular windows, round yellow doors, and chimneys poking out from the grassy mounds. This is a high-density, subterranean residential zone designed specifically for the comfort and architectural traditions of Halflings. It provides a 'home away from home' for the many Halfling merchants, cooks, and craftsmen who drive the city's service economy. The Heights are actually reinforced earthworks that allow for multi-level dwellings without sacrificing the feeling of living in a traditional 'smial' or burrow.
