The Boritsi Trading Company is one of the foremost mercantile companies in the Domains of Dread. It is named for its owners, the Boritsi family, for whom nearly all members were involved in operating to some degree or another.

Bases of Operation

Known to have permanent offices of the Boritsi Trading Company were located in Levkarest, the capital of the domain of Borca; the city of Bergovitsa in Nova Vaasa; and Arameikos, a large town on the island domain of Liffe.

Organization

This company is known for paying its workers a relatively fair wage. They also have a ship that plies the length of The Core's coast, visiting every island in the Nocturnal Sea that has a noteworthy settlement.

The Boritsi Trading Company is not above poisoning would-be competitors or their wares. Including those merchants who, after failing to reach an arrangement with them, went on to make private deals with shops and suppliers that the Boritsi had previously done business with.

History

On the Prime Material world of Toril, sometime in the late-15th century DR, parts of a woodland called the Quivering Forest were pulled along with a large section of the lands surrounding a kingdom called Phlan into the domain of Barovia. The section of the forest that remained became a reoccurring entrance into the land of Barovia, dropping unfortunate travelers on the outskirts of a small mountain village named Orașnou. After encounters with two separate Vistani tribes near Orașnou, the family Bogarav of the Boem tasque and the family Moslavaric of the Kaldresh tasque, a group of adventurers from Toril had to defend a community of elves from attacks by ettercaps. In the midst of this they came across the body of one of their victims, a Vistani with a satchel that bore the words "Boritsi Trading Company" in gold leaf beneath a brass clap.
