Uttolot family

The Uttolots are a family from Shadycreek Run heavily involved in trade and in trafficking of strange animals and monsters. It is one of the four criminal families comprising the Tribes of Shadycreek Run.

Description

Of the four Tribes of Shadycreek Run, the Uttolot family had by 831 PD become a necessary ally for anyone who travels through the area, since they controlled the gates through the Quannah Breach and charged a toll for passage.

Even when they didn't participate in the active rivalry between the Mardoons and the Jagentoths, the Uttolots were considered capable of getting mixed up in ill-advised affairs.

Business interests

The Uttolots focus on poaching dangerous beasts and monsters, and given the nature of their work, they maintain a constant three-way rivalry with the Trebain family and the Greytrader Union, sometimes driving each of them into strange temporary alliances with one of the others. The Uttolot family usually resort to the Grudge Gang as most of their active agents.

Leadership of the family is split between:

• Lord Milos Uttolot
• Jagoda Uttolot (chaotic evil, half-orc) - He has a great knowledge of the beasts of the Savalirwood, with expertise at tracking and capturing them so his family can sell them. Due to his brutality and lack of diplomacy, the hunter's family occasionally has to dig him out of trouble.
• Mira Uttolot

Other members include:

• Sylker "the Millionaire" Uttolot - This gold-eyed half-elf was an underling in Shadycreek Run, until he left and joined the Myriad, and became the first person in Wildemount to hoard one million gold pieces; thanks to him, his organization infiltrated Kymal, where he lives as of 836 PD. He owns a Mirror of Infinite Transpondence.

Loyalists of this family include:

• Hulil and Tulgi Lutan - Dwarven sisters who were sent to Palebank Village and contracted frigid woe. Hulil is a priestess of the Scaled Tyrant.
• Raegrin Mau - A wood elf and cultist of the Scaled Tyrant with dragon tattoos on his face. Loyal to Hulil, he stayed with her in the same caverns after she contracted the disease.

History

In 831 PD, when Lucien Tavelle was returning to Shadycreek Run after leaving the Claret Orders, along with Cree Deeproots, Brevyn Oakbender, and Otis Brunkel, they had to pass through the mountain range at the Quannah Breach and pay their toll to the Uttolots.

As of 835 PD, the Uttolots had a presence in Palebank Village, having sent agents to look for artifacts coming from Eiselcross in order to steal them. Some of them had even trained ice frogs to use them as guard animals. However, while there, Hulil and Tulgi Lutan contracted frigid woe, an arcane malady created in Aeor.
