Asne was of high average strength for an Aes Sedai, with a One Power level of 18(6). She is stronger than the minimum stated strength needed to Travel.
History
She was from Saldaea.
She was Aes Sedai for over a hundred and thirty years. Born in 837 NE, she went to the Tower in 853 NE. After seven years as a novice and eight as Accepted, she was raised in 868 NE.
She had four Warders. Only one of them, Powl, was a Darkfriend, but she was confident the other three would believe what she told them and do anything she ordered.
Activities
After fleeing the White Tower, she and the others in Liandrin's group went to Tear and worked for the Forsaken Be'lal. They tried, unsuccessfully, to trap Rand al'Thor just after he released Callandor. After this failure, the group fled to Tanchico to try and steal the Domination Band from the Panarch's Palace. They were foiled by Elayne Trakand and Nynaeve al'Meara.
After Tanchico, they went to Amadicia where Moghedien took charge of the group. After Liandrin's punishment and Eldrith Jhondar's promotion, Moghedien ordered Temaile Kinderode to Ghealdan. Asne traveled to Samara with Temaile, Eldrith, and Chesmal Emry. When Eldrith's Warder Kennit arrived, they fled to Caemlyn. Asne had found the fluted black rod, which Moghedien had hidden, and brought it with her.
After fleeing Samara, Asne stopped masking her Warder bond so that her Warders could find her. She intended to keep the presence of her Warders a secret, holding them in reserve in case she needed protection.
She walked in on Elayne, Vandene Namelle, Sareitha Tomares, and Careane Fransi trying to arrest Lady Shiaine, Falion Bhoda, and Marillin Gemalphin. Asne stunned them with a ter'angreal that she probably found when she pilfered the fluted black rod. Vandene, Sareitha, and Careane were all killed and Elayne was taken captive.
Working with Chesmal, Falion Bhoda, Temaile, Marillin Gemalphin, Eldrith, and Lady Shiaine, Asne attempted to flee from Caemlyn with Elayne. However, they were confronted by Andoran soldiers organized by Birgitte to rescue Elayne. Asne slaughtered many of the soldiers using balefire produced by the fluted black rod ter'angreal. Shortly thereafter, Birgitte persuaded the Windfinders to intervene and so Asne was killed by lightning thrown by a circle led by Chanelle. Three of her Warders, including Powl, were bound with Air and almost certainly imprisoned.
