Kerene Nagashi

Appearance and Personality

She was tall and beautiful with short dark hair lightly touched with white. Her eyes were nearly black.

She was reputed to adhere to the strictest letter of the law no matter her own feelings, whether pity or contempt.

Abilities and Strength

Kerene was exceptionally strong in the One Power, with a level of 11(+2). She stands above Moiraine Damodred and Siuan Sanche, but lower than Cadsuane Melaidhrin. Cadsuane said that "no one had come to the Tower who could match [herself] in a thousand years. No one to match Kerene or Meilyn in almost six hundred." There was "a sharp drop" between Kerene and Moiraine in terms of strength.

History

Kerene was born in 793 NE. Her last name seems to indicate either Borderlander or Domani origin, although her nationality is never confirmed.

We don't have details on her training and enrollment dates, but she likely was raised to the shawl around 820 NE, making her a cohort of fellow Green sisters Adelorna Bastine and Merise Haindehl and Sitters Saerin Asnobar and Suana Dragand, among others.

She came from a home of rather modest character and had four siblings; two sisters and two brothers.

Kerene had two Warders, Karile and Stepin.

She was Captain-General of the Green Ajah.

Activities

Tamra Ospenya personally hands Moiraine Damodred a letter to take to Kerene.

She had been Aes Sedai for well over 100 years when she was hand-picked to become one of Tamra Ospenya's Searchers to find the Dragon Reborn after Tamra heard Gitara Moroso's Foretelling.

It was generally considered that she would be the next Amyrlin Seat after Sierin Vayu, which infuriated Sierin and made Kerene nervous.

Death

She reportedly fell off a ship in the River Alguenya during a storm and drowned. But in truth, she was killed by the Black Ajah. She was around 185 years old at the time of her murder.
