OpenArena
OpenArena is a free, open-source first-person shooter (FPS) released in 2005, based on the Quake III Arena engine (ioquake3). It was created as a fully free alternative to Quake III, replacing all proprietary assets with open-licensed content.
OpenArena is a fast-paced, arena-style deathmatch shooter — no story, no campaigns, pure fragfest. It's all about skill, speed, and reflexes. Think rocket jumps, rail shots, and chaotic multiplayer mayhem.
- Deathmatch — every player for themselves, most kills wins
- Team Deathmatch — coordinated team combat
- Capture the Flag — steal the enemy flag, protect your own
- Domination, Harvester, Overload — various objective modes
- Bot matches — play offline against AI opponents at adjustable difficulty
- Multiplayer — join public servers online
