Durin's Bane was a Balrog, most well known for the destruction of the Dwarven city of Moria. Durin's Bane was notable for surviving the War of Wrath, and after sleeping deep within the Misty Mountains for thousands of years, it was awoken by the Dwarves of Moria in the Third Age.
