The Bay of Eldamar was a wide bay in the coasts of Aman on the western shores of the Great Sea. It was here that the island of Tol Eressëa would finally come to be anchored.
For many years the Teleri dwelled on Tol Eressëa. Eventually, Ossë guided them across the windless surface of the Bay to the shores of Aman, where they would come to dwell in the haven of Alqualondë.
The Bay of Eldamar was visited long afterwards by the mortal Eärendil the Mariner during the War of Wrath. He anchored his ship Vingilot in the Bay while he entered the Blessed Realm on his embassy to the Powers who dwelled there.
