Tar-Minastir's tower

Tower Middle-Earth

Tar-Minastir's tower was a high tower in western Númenor.

It was located atop the hill of Oromet in the province of Andustar. It is south of the coastal city of Andúnië, and was reached by a road connecting Ondosto to Andúnië.

History

The tower was built by Tar-Minastir, the eleventh King of Númenor sometime between SA 1731 and SA 1869 to gaze upon the West. The Elven city of Avallónë could be seen on a clear day from it. Tar-Palantir spent much time here, ever yearning for the West and watching for any ship sailing from Tol Eressëa, but none came. The tower, along with the rest of Númenor, perished in the island's downfall.
