Description
The Doralle Woods is located at the southern base of the northwest Cyrios Mountains, north of Gwardan. A clear-watered lake is located in the northern part of the forest, and a river flows from this lake into the Lucidian Ocean. The Woods supply Gwardan and the northwestern Menagerie Coast with game, timber, and herbal medicines, and fishers visit often to catch rare fish and shellfish unique to the lake.
A fey community watches over the Doralle Woods from the Feywild, and they often appear in the woods to interfere with those who disrespect the land or steal of its resources; a local story tells of illegal loggers from Tussoa who vanished after a week, then appeared again a month later thirty years older and without memory of what happened while they were gone. After 400 PD, the founding elves of Gwardan paid respects to the fey living in the Doralle Woods and took only enough lumber as was required to build their new city. Even today, travelers and hunters bring offerings such as fresh bread, tropical fruit, and pearls to appease the fey when they cross their territory.
