Trinity Universe

The combined science fiction setting for the three Æon Universe games (Trinity/Æon, Aberrant and Adventure!), sometimes also called the "Æoniverse". It's based on the real world, like the World of Darkness, but it alters history and adds science-fiction elements.

In 1922, a disastrous experiment unleashes a new form of energy which makes the impossible possible, at least for a small numbered of inspired individuals. In 1998, a satellite explodes in orbit; in the following decade thousands of humans, dubbed Novas, spontaneously develop the ability to channel quantum forces, effectively giving them superpowers. They are eventually corrupted by their power and, after a disastrous but brief war, are branded aberrants and exiled from the planet. By the 22nd century, humanity has made contact with aliens, and Earth and its colonies are defended by psions, individuals with psychic abilities.

Throughout it all, one organisation, the Æon Trinity, keeps watch over the world, recruiting operatives with extraordinary talents, and seemingly one step ahead of their foes.
