Werewolf: The Wild West is a game set in the World of Darkness. This game is derived from Werewolf: The Apocalypse, and unlike other games set in the World of Darkness, it does not take place in the modern age, but in the wild west.
Just like all the World of Darkness games, the world that werewolf takes place in is much like our own, though a bit darker. Because of that, the setting is often referred to as the "Savage West".
