Northwest Faerûn

The Reghed Glacier was a glacial wasteland north of the Spine of the World . The region was so desolate and isolated that few travelers dared to cross near its eastern border, let alone venture atop its icy facade.

Xantharl's Keep was a fortified village south of Mirabar . As of 1370 DR , it was home to a population of 475. It was known for its tall stone houses with steep roofs.

Morgur's Mound was the ancestor mound of the Thunderbeast tribe of the Uthgardt . It was located within the Crags , and was named for the brother of Uthgar .

The High Forest, also known as the Great Everwood, was a remnant of the days of old, when all of Faerûn was covered in green and elves, giants and dragons ruled the world.

The Southkrypt Garden, also known simply as Southkrypt, was the ruins of a dwarfhold on the northern edge of Kryptgarden Forest. The former name was derived from the fact that its dwarven inhabitants had constructed a magnificent garden around it.

The Ice Lakes were a group of lakes in northwest Faerûn, situated northeast of Luskan.

Situated in a canyon near this river was the Raven Rock . The Black Raven River spilled out of the River Caves in the Spine of the World and flowed south, past the Fell Wood and the Cold Marshes , the Ice Lakes and merged into the River Mirar.

The human kingdom of Delimbiyran was formed after the rest of Elembar was wiped out by a horde of orcs in the Year of the Fortress Scoured, 511 DR . It became the human part of the triumvirate when it joined to form Phalorm , the Realm of Three Crowns, in the Year of the Lamia's Kiss, 615 DR . Phalorm survived for less than a century. Indeed, their elven peers from Ardeep grew sick of war and eventually left Phalorm to travel to Evermeet . The severely depopulated dwarven allies also retreated from the area, effectively putting an end to the realm in the Year of the Lamia's Kiss, 615 DR . The humans allowed any of the gnomes and halflings of Phalorm who wanted to stay in the alliance to do so as long as they swore fealty to king Javilarhh II , who founded the Kingdom of Man, officially called Delimbiyran after its capital city. This new realm was to encompass all the land that belonged to Phalorm.

Luskan , also known as the City of Sails , was a port city at the mouth of the River Mirar on the Sword Coast North . Luskan, despite the presence of the Ten Towns , was considered by many to be civilization's farthest reach.

The trail started in Luskan and headed north until it met the Ten Trail south of the Spine of the World . It was snowy and windy with very few trees or hills along it to provide shelter. Moreover, the trail practically disappeared during the winter due to heavy snowfall.
