If Meve decides to storm the city: The Lyrian Free Company, under the command of Meve, attacked the city, killing all the Nilfgaardians during The Battle of Gatberg, and in Meve's opinion, saved all the residents. Though the mayor approached her and asked her to keep the gold storages for the residents, in case the Nilfgaardians attacked again, and they needed a bribing tool.
Take the gold: Meve told the mayor the gold was needed for her small army, which the man dishearteningly agreed to.
Leave the gold in Gatberg: Meve decided that the city of Gatberg needed a line of defense, the bribe of the gold. She asked the mayor that if Nilfgaard was losing the war, that the men of the city would take up arms and fight for the cause, which the mayor agreed to. Later, the mayor sent a letter along with gold collected from the population to the queen as a token of thanks.
