Due to Aedirn's military resistance against Nilfgaard in the Second Northern War, in 1267 General Ardal aep Dahy had several Aedirnian villages burned to the ground and its inhabitants enslaved.

A resistance movement was led before that by Mayor Godzimir, who authorized the miller Vokmir, son of Zenek, to collect donations in order to send them to the fortress of Rosberg.
