Eglamar was a major region in the Falas, encompassing the entire sea-board from Cape Andras to the northwest all the way to the headland of Ras Mewrim in the southeast. The region of Eglamar also included the havens of Círdan at Brithombar and Eglarest, the two most important cities of the Falathrim.
Eglamar was also where Finrod built the tower of Barad Nimras upon the cape west of Eglarest, guarding against a potential naval attack by Morgoth - however, such an assault never happened.
However, Eglamar is only named on the Second 'Silmarillion' Map, which formed the basis for the map of Beleriand in the published Silmarillion, though both Eglamar and Ras Mewrim were not labelled on the published Silmarillion map.
