Inhabitants

The most prominent inhabitants of the Cliffkeeps are humanoid: dwarves, half-giants, goblins, and kobolds. The range is also home to a wide variety of giants: cyclops, fire giants, frost giants, hill giants, ettins, and trolls. Less prominently, there are catfolk living in the caves of the Cliffkeeps. Deep beneath the ground, the Cliffkeep Mountains house the myconid race. The lower temperatures of the peaks favor the presence of cold snap spirits.

Society and economy

In 812 PD, the majority of people who lived in this region worshiped Moradin, the All-Hammer, Kord, the Stormlord, and Pelor, the Dawnfather while the minority worshiped Bahamut, the Platinum Dragon. By 836 PD, Sehanine, the Moonweaver, Asmodeus, the Lord of the Hells, and Tiamat, the Scaled Tyrant gained minority followings.

In 812 PD, the settlements of the region imported lumber, spices, fish, grain, and livestock, and exported precious gems, industrial metals, gold, silver, platinum, mithral, cobalt, fine stonework, jewelry, fungal produce, weapons, and armor. By 836 PD, the settlements started to export quartz and granite as well.

Iridon Bastion
The building is made of light stone with copper-colored edges, in striking contrast to the surrounding corrupted terrain. It has at least two towers.

Lyrengorn
Lyrengorn (from the Elvish lyren'gorn, for "mountain city") is a small elven city-state atop the Elvenpeaks in the Cliffkeep Mountains, in the northern reaches of Tal'Dorei.

Umbra Hills
The hills no longer support animal life. The only plant that grows in the highlands is shadegrass, which boasts a unique and acrid flavor prized by spice traders across Exandria.

Vulkanon
At some point in history, a member of the upper class of Vulkanon, Suthine, rose to nearly divine status and became an empowered champion, able to lend her strength to others. She became known as the Eternal Princess of Vulkanon, where she lives in seclusion to this day.

Gatshadow Mountain
Gatshadow Mountain, also called simply Gatshadow, is an enormous, ominous mountain in Tal'Dorei at the southeastern tip of the Cliffkeep Mountains, just northwest of the Bramblewood Forest and Westruun.

Terrah

Grey Valley
The valley lies in shadow from the perpetually cloudy sky, and a cold wind blows, filling the air with the scent of smoke. Pale petrified trees, still bearing their colorless leaves, rise from the rocky ground in a dense, blanched forest.

Past the tall peaks of the northern end of the Cliffkeep Mountains, the Neverfields are a field of glacial ice surrounded by endless blizzards.

The Othendin Pass is a large, rocky ravine surrounded by tall cliffs. The ground is dry and cracked, with sparse bushes and trees.

Reaching Bluff is in the northwest of the Cliffkeep Mountains, not far from the northern coast of the Frigid Depths, in a small but fertile valley with some deposits of gold and iron.

The village of Serpent's Head was built atop a squat mountain, which was the village's namesake. Most people who lived there were dwarves and humans who worked as miners and farmers.

The Pools of Wittebak are located in the Cliffkeep Mountains of Tal'Dorei, north of Kraghammer and between 100 and 120 miles south of Terrah. In a forest ravine not far from the pools there is a single small home which was inhabited by Sprigg.
